Question For: All nations, except for America and Japan.
Question: If you were given all the money, time, and resources you could possibly want to do so, how do you think you would dub Axis Powers Hetalia?I'll say right away, I'm not looking for an accurate depiction of the original work; this is going from the ( Read more... )

If I were to change things as America has done... I suppose things more close to home would be first? Obviously we can not change the original art-- but instead turn the humor to what makes sense to us? If our companies would decide to change it at all ( ... )

I am so sorry for asking such a hard question, a-and thank you for answering so thoroughly even though you didn't have to! *bow* Even just a little joke answer would have been enough for me, and I am so grateful for this wonderfully long reply ( ... )

Japan and I have always had our... differences... He can actually be quite crafty ... and he's terribly good at predicting me-- I can't help but find myself in battles of wits with him any chance there is to be had!

As for Americans... there are traits I do not like, but there are traits I do... Is it a shame to admit I'm quite the fan of the ah... Wild west...? I think this is the side of America I enjoy the most! I kind of respect some of those traits...Aha... mn, its true-- but its been that way for some time... One of the jokes that has come about, to a Ukrainian: Can you eat an entire pound of apples ( ... )

I-I don't... That is, I'm nervous about this one... My people are actually pretty competitive you see. We dislike being compared to anyone, especially Poland and even my brothers. So I don't know if much culture would be shown the same, as they seem to compare a lot of it in order to make another nation seem silly. However we do like America, so he might be shown in a bit better light. And Russia... He would probably be a little more of a bully. Not that... he needs much help... [Cough]

Oh! And I think they would want me to be a bit louder, you know? I would definitely think that basketball would be mentioned.

You a basketball fan, Lithuania?! xD Awesome! I never successfully shot a basketball in my life until I was in eighth grade, so I'm always so impressed by those who can play it well~ <3

If you don't like comparing people, I can see how the differences would have been lost. My high school was so scared of racism that they refused to let people acknowledge different races, and I always felt really offended being lumped together with everyone else. It's probably just me, since everyone else seemed fine with it. . . But a Chinese person like me is not the same as a black person or an Indian person and I hate being called "Chinese-American," it's demeaning W-well, I guess I mean, it must be sort of sad to have no impressions of other countries, even the ones right next to you. . . D: To each his own, I suppose. *sniffle*

I-I'd shudder to imagine Russia from your perspective. . . D8

I love basketball! It's a national sport, and something we're really very proud of!

Ah well, we have impressions... We just don't like to be compared to others very much. I think every country thinks that in some ways they're the best, right? It's something like that. So I would think we might have done it a bit like everyone else truthfully would, by making us look a little better. In Japanese, Japan makes a lot of comments about weird westerners, and their odd ways... Especially our outlook on nudity. [Is used to people bathing in the Baltic Sea on his shores] So with ours the stereotypes would be from our point of view. It wouldn't be MUCH different, just a little.. biased? I suppose everyone else would be the same..

I honestly don't think I would bother dubbing it in Norwegian... If my people want a dubbed version, they can just look at America's.

My country is a very locally-focused one. My people rarely care about anything that's going on in other countries, especially if they're outside the Nordics. Maybe if I was in it more...

Well, if we're talking hypothetically, then I suppose I would make Sweden the butt of more jokes. But really, there wouldn't be much point since we can't change the animation.

Not to mention, our dubbers aren't the best... Just look at what we did to Harry Potter...
