Women are the same as men, that's all there is to it. They work just as hard, and so they deserve to be treated the same. Some think I'm too casual about it, but... In times of economic trouble, it's important to let everyone be true to their potential.

[ Shrugs. ]

S'what I think, anyway.

This is a troublesome subject Damn it, Boss.

Here, 60% of college graduates are women, but I admit that their situation could be better, women's employment rate is 12% lower in Italy if you consider the rest of the EU. My situation is even worse because women's unemployment rate is higher in my part of the country when compared to Veneziano's. And they receive less than men in some jobs.

This shows that they still don't have the same social status as men, but of course we're trying to change this, it's difficult to change how society views them, but they already achieve many things in the last century so I'm sure that slowly we can do it.

Your boss...Urggh. How he treats women isn't really a good role model for your country.
I wish a women threw that..What I shouldn't say that
At least you care. Unfortunatly the, "Italian man," in America is very chauvinistic...I heard though in the medieval times you were actually quite nice to you women. Too bad you didn't stay like that.
*Takes out a creasant wrench and hits him*

Hopefully that's a little, "inspiration," to get you moving.

Well... that's a really difficult question.

I am very very traditional, especially with my religion, which has specific things to say about the roles of men and women and how they should stay. But it's not necessarily a positive thing to keep holding onto those roles in this day and age, so I've been trying a little to change things. After all, a very important politician in my house is a woman! So of course I don't think they should all just stay at home!! But at the same time there is still all sorts of pressure on women to keep traditional roles as mothers and housewives; I'm really very conflicted!! And of course, men are still expected to be especially polite and chivalrous to women, such as opening doors and going out of their way to be helpful and nice, so you can understand how women here wouldn't want that to go away.

Unfortunately social classes are a very sensitive thing at home too. I've been looked down on a lot by many other nations for being simple, slow, or uneducated especially by my brother, because I was never ( ... )

You mentioned Yulia! I'm very interested in her especially how she got her power but I'm not so sure on how I feel about her policies.
She was such figure head in the Orange revoultion. It's nice to see a strong women like that.
I American we have this game called, "who would you gay for?" and I chose her...Yea she's pretty and powerful...Better then the Jessica Albas most people had

I'm glad your trying to change those, "roles" or more like, "expand," them for women.
I'm sad though how people treat you though... Your brother and Germany were very cruel to you. (Especially in WWII)
Hopefully your situation will get better. You are sorta standing up for your rights with your borther with that whole natrual gas thing...right???

[ ooc; whatever her politics may or may not be, mun admits that Prime Minister Tymoshenko is a beautiful woman. ]

Well yes that's true but Germany's really very sorry about that!!

The gas problem... That wasn't so much me standing up to him as it was me just... unable to pay him back... But I do hope things will get better! Brother seems to be happy with the way things are at his house, but I definitely want improvement!!

Oh I didn't mean, Germany hasn't forgiven you.
*feels bad for saying that. He's improved very much...probably better then us at the moment*
I was just thinking your whole like you have been treated as, "lower than," and hopefully we all know this isn't true.
You have very beautiful lands and people. The fact Hitler called the Slavs less then proves he's a crack pot
Well you did have to talk to him about it...That's the first step right???
Hopefully he doesn't take out his financial problems out on you.

Ahh... it used to be that the men were favoured more, you know? But now, it seems to be pretty even! The literacy rate is 98%, and women are paid around the same as the men... B-basically, women and men are equals~

Don´t worry that your late
Even you are following the Italian being late to everything sterotype
It seems like you are treating your better throughout the decade but it seemsa as if your brother is having a harder time understanding some things about rights. *cough cough*
But did't you recently passed a law to maybe ban some strotypes, but also you have a pretty badsterotype

A-ah, sì...

Oh, that's because... well, it's harder to get jobs down south, you know?

[ WINCE. Oh, those horny Italian men... ]

Sì, but that's just men being men! They're complimenting the women, really! And I'm trying to fix it!
