NOM. I've been craving cheese grits for like 2 weeks now, but since I live in IL, no dice. Even Flavor, the Southern restaurant near us, only has creamy grits. Baw.

I know this sounds stupid, but do they make boxed grits...like boxed mac & cheez, where I can just add liquid and cook?

Pretty much that's what we use. Add to boiling water and let them simmer for ten minutes. Mix with salt, pepper, cheese, bacon grease, whatever. LET COOL! Then eat. Okay, now I'm hungry. Works like oatmeal or cream of wheat.

Grits ... you know, ground up dried corn cooked in water. With cheese. Garlic, too, if I have my way.

Best grits I ever tasted were ground at Mabry Mill in the Smoky Mountains. I should check their website and see if they have any to sell online. Last time I checked, they were out of season.
