My class schedule, starting tomorrow:

MWF 10-11: Mass Media and Culture (Communications 150). This is the class I'm least certain about: it's an intro Communications class, and it's at 10 in the morning. Music has long been an interest and passion of mine. Much of what I have learned has been through self study rather in formal settings. Of American popular music, my interests run to Roots (and Folk), Bluegrass, very early jazz (circa 1920’s), swing era jazz (circa 1930’s through 1940’s), Zydeco, the arc of Rock and Roll from it’s roots in the 1950’s though the beginning of the Disco/Punk era including some “Fusion”, (and some more recent reinventions), the influence on Western Classical music on popular music. The list goes on, but you get the idea.

Perhaps because of this, I am very much interested in hearing more about your experiences with Music 338 and, if you are willing to share, your writings on the subject.
The crossover of your Mass Media and Ethnographic Methods classes could also be very interesting.

So please consider posting more on this thread.
