I'm not sure I've ever really posted about my feelings on this, but I find the concept of a "friends cut" on LJ to be rather offensive. It sorta depends on who's doing it, but generally, if I'm following you on LJ, I care about you beyond just your words, and I also care about you enough to give you access to my non-public entries. So, when I see

Yeah, the f-list purge is something I've never quite understood, for pretty much the same reasons. I think Dreamwidth's splitting of "folks I want to follow" and "folks I'm happy to let read my f-locked stuff" makes intentions clearer, but pretty much the same effect can be achieved on LJ with a little use of custom friends groups.

Funny thing, I don't think I've had my TV on in a week or more. Something to do with my getting involved in ham radio, I think...

Next Con I'm going to is a small music-related one in early August. After that is the Discworld Con at the end of August, and then another small music-related one in Germany in October.
