Lurking at the cellar door

Jan 15, 2008 16:48

My goal is to get to every single one of these and sample their delights, while bringing home some reminders of the good times. And have a cellar dug out to store all the wine. And have fabulous dinner parties with six courses and a great Australian wine to go with each. One day my darlings, one day...

Stellar cellars )

fabulous, food, wine

My dad has a cellar and as a child we would travel all over the place to different wineries to collect wine. he knew all the manufacturers and we often spent a day or two at different wineries.

"She knew how to spit wine before toothpaste" was a common joke about me as a kid :)

Ps. To this day I still can't spit toothpaste

Your childhood sounds great! Well from a wine enthusiasts point of view that is... I think your dad's joke about wine before toothpaste is hilarious. So looking forward to seeing you next weekend :)

My dad is very dry and funny - he was a good role model

I am very excited for Melly :)

wonderful post Natalya. yes the Red Hill district is great, concentrated amount of wineries in a small area. Montalto is great, their infused olive oil is yum.
as long as we are dreaming,
how about we all book a private plane and we all go over to a resort in the Barossa with spas and spend each day leisurely browsing fine wines

You're on! I would love that... which reminds me, better go buy a PowerBall ticket eh? *grin* but if we do a road trip to the Red Hill district, I'll be sure to drop you a line. I can't go past a good infused olive oil!

dont overlook the clare valley region. stunning. we often stop in at Seven Hills the jesuit winery on the way home to buy a mixd dozen. There are jut dozens of wonderful wineries in the Clare all deserving of your time. So, when you hire that plane, detour just a tiny wee bit.

ooh hallo, always nice to hear from you! What a grand idea, i think I might hire a very large plane to fit all the wine enthusiasts on. Thansk for the brilliant tip. Been trying to send you an invite to a happening on the 2nd of Feb, did you get it?
