I don't know why you need google alerts for Cumberbatch; that man's face is everywhere. ;-P (Somewhat to my chagrin, since I didn't like BBC Sherlock when I tried it, so I don't click on links about the show, but THERE HE IS ALL OF THE TIME ANYWAY.)

I am sorry you can't stand Sherlock - I admit I tried watching it about a year ago and shut it off within minutes, but it sounds like you got farther and still couldn't get into it. I'm afraid I can empathize far too well with Sherlock, and since you find him unhealthy I will understand if you want to reconsider giving me an invite. ;)

But seriously, I shall have to flex my rusty fannish muscles and find a way to thank you by way of a fandom you prefer!

BBC Sherlock: my tolerance for the jerk genius is greatly diminished when his behavior is admired/allowed within the scope of the show. It's not a Sherlock specific thing. I gave up on House after one season, for example, and never really got hooked on Psych, even though I sometimes enjoyed it. But I've ended up loving Elementary, which questions its jerk genius's behavior every week. (CBS's Sherlock is a lot more willing to learn from other people than BBC Sherlock, from what I've seen. So I don't end up with the reaction of "Run away, John/Joan Watson! Run for your life and sanity!")
