break is for entertainment

I've been home on break for over two weeks now, and haven't posted a thing! It's clearly a calamity, people. I feel I've lost my fandom mojo. Also, I miss superheroes. There hasn't been a really good superhero moment in my life for awhile. Anybody want to give me a superhero-related prompt in an effort to reignite my fanfic abilities? Learning music? Fun! I agree, it's like another language. I still can't sight-read to save my life, but I can remember a few piano pieces I memorized way back when. I'm glad my mother made us take lessons (when we had the money to pay for them so it was fairly sporadic).

Am glad that the French class didn't kill you dead. *g*

Oh, and superhero prompts? Ever since those youtube vids with the action figures that you linked to (Spider-Man and Batman comparing angsty childhoods) I've been wanting more in a similar tone... like Superman and Batman debating the merits of the FoS versus the Batcave, or arguing over which city is more corrupt (and difficult to keep in line), Metropolis or Gotham City.

Yeah, that probably wasn't much help. Heh.

Yes, I can't shut up tonight. But I have a good reason to be back. Did you know that jimbutcher has an LJ?! And he talks about writing! I thought you might be interested since I know you've read at least one of his Dresden books. (Sadly he has no idea how to use a cut tag. Apparently that's a published author shortfall, since robinmckinley doesn't either.)

WTH, LJ! I fully did not get the notification for this reply. I'm sorry. I will be checking out those author LJs. Isn't that fun? I so want to be that author someday, the one who tries to stay "in touch" with the little people. Hehe. I will hopefully do a better job of it then than now. Ahaha.

I'm useless for superheroes prompts, but I do need to report back that I finished Fortress of Solitude by Jonathan Lethem, and if the title didn't already tip you off, it has some comic/superhero themes going on... Most of which went over my head because I can be kind of thick/lazy when I'm reading for non-academic reasons. That said, YAY for reading for non-academic reasons (for me... you probably get to read some decent stuff in your degree program...).

Enjoy your break!

P.S. Still haven't watched Razor. Am total BSG loser! :( Although I saw the picture in Entertainment Weekly of the cast and got a little more interested.
