birthdays and icons

Once again, I missed the birthday of two people I really appreciate. So sorry! Once again belatedly, I wish you a

happy birthday,

Comtesse_sin and Eumenides!

comtesse_sin, I'm so glad were friends, even if only in LJ, and that you're here in the fandom to give us loads more of Sirius. Please go on writing your long, gorgeous, Sirius-centric stories!

eumenides, ( Read more... )

I need to go buy some soft pastels... What paper do you use for them?
I love the shading on the nose, and the long strokes of the hair.

Thank you! Yeah, soft pastels are great. For such pics (small, or sketchy or both), I use Sennelier sketchbook recycled paper with light grain (the pad is 9"1/2 x 12"1/2. Really, it's the best to draw with pastels! The inconvenient is that it's very light, so that the pics are FRAGILE. For biggest or more lasting pics, and especially when I want to draw on coloured paper (beige is great to get a golden light effect, light grey works for a less happy feel, and black and dark blue are great for night scenes), I use Canson heavier paper (mi-teintes).

The pastels brand is very important too. I found that cheap brands aren't regular (you can find harder bits inside, and I even found a black chip in the white pencil - argh). I use -and love! Stabilo pastel pencils.

I hope you get some soon, and I can't wait to see the result!

Is it all right if I either use that first one or make my own from the art? carefordragons (that'd be my RP Charlie) always needs more pretty dragon icons, but I don't know that I know your policy regarding your art.

You're very welcome to do either :)

My policy regarding my art is that I like to know where it goes and what gets done with it, but once I know, I very rarely say no -in fact, I think I never did!

Thank you! You know, I'm really glad you chose to stay here in LJ, even without being actively involved in the fandom any more.

And please, if you write a character that's just a bit like Sirius, one day, you'll find a way not to kill him in the middle, won't you?

Thanks! This one? It's a very recent one of Charlie and two duelling dragons, I posted it yesterday here

Ohhhh gorgeous Sirius. Beautiful. *sigh* He looks so deliciously brooding.

Love the icons too, I'd love to take the corner of the mouth kissing one and the Sirius on his bike one if that's OK. I don't have any icon space at the moment but just as soon as I get my paid LJ set up I'll need 'em!

Do you happen to have one of Sirius' eyes from the corner of the mouth kissing picture? It's my favourite :) If not, would you mind if I made one?

Thank you so much! I decided to place this Sirius during the OotP timeline, so he's allowed to brood ;)

The icon you just took isn't from the corner of the mouth kissing, but from another (Lucius/Sirius) one, that I rather like, in fact. As for Sirius's eyes, the only things I have it this *points to icon*. But I wouldn't mind at all if you did your own!
