watercolour - first of the four paintings in a R/S series

Dec 05, 2004 23:06

Here is the first of the watercolour I had promised to do to comfort people after the elections. Four people asked for Remus/Sirius, so I decided to make a series.

Could Remus and Sirius have waited for one year to meet again? I don't think so... See here how Sirius went to Remus, in the summer after Harry's third year.

This one is for diamine, hoping ( Read more... )

Oh, it's just lovely! I especially love your vision of Remus here... it's actually very close to the way that I pictured him when I first read the book. The expression on his face is wonderful. And the colors of the entire painting are so pretty! *happy sigh*

Thanks so much! I'm relived that you find the pic pretty, I'm in the stage when I can't really find something I like in it, myself ;)

And I'm so glad that you like this version of Remus. That's how I pictured him from the book, and I'm happy I could keep this version in my head, which I so much prefer in regard to fannon Remus.

Oh my God, there's my Lupin.
Not David Thewlis! Not sexy!Remus, as much as I might love him.
My Lupin is your Lupin, that guy there, with the greying hair and the adam's apple, looking somewhat undernourished and very surprised, but keeping his cool.

THANK YOU for reminding me!!!

And outside my wild fangirling, I think it really holds up as a picture. The lighting is beautiful and I don't think the colors clash.
(But Padfoot's legs look too long to me.)

You are so talented and amazing! Yay!

Thanks so much! I'm so glad we share the same image of Lupin :) And you say it so well *loves you*

I'm relieved you think that the pic works. It's a bit difficult for me to like it at the present, and that's so nice when people can help me accepting what I've done!

Padfoot's long legs were consciously made, because I imagine him as those really big dogs with never ending legs. But I didn't use any photo reference, so that the whole body doesn't comes so well together, and a lot of commenters here identify various mistakes... I really should think a document myself more before beginning to draw!

Very well done, I like it, especially the attention to detail in the background :)

Thanks very much! You know, for the attention to detail, I'm regretting that I didn't do it more... I was a bit too impatient at the end, I guess. But I'm really glad that it works for you, nonetheless :)

AHHH!! OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*glomps you*
*dances with glee*
*is mostly speechless*
i swear i -know- where the link is to leave a comment, but i went so nuts i scrolled up and down 20 times before i found it!

squee!

it looks good on my monitor, i LOVE the plants (nature is wonderfully clashy, methinks) and Padfoot (!!) and i really don't notice a problem with Remus' legs much. i love it.

i don't think Padfoot's legs are too long, because i've always thought of his AS a grim, and they're often compared to very shaggy black wolfhound types and eee!

i will stop gushing now. *love*

YAY YOU LIKE IT !!!!!!!!

Thanks so much :) I'm so glad that you understood what I was aiming for with Padfoot :)

And since you seem to like it ^_~ would you like to receive either the original (which I should rework a bit, because the contrasts are different than in the .jpg file), or a print, as a christmas card? My email: nassima3 at tiscali dot fr

*hugs*

Oh my god, the details! And I think your Lupin looks the way he should: not cartoonish, not a sex-god. His proportions seem just a little bit off, but other than that it's a lovely picture. Of course they got together before the end of GoF!

Thanks so much! I'm glad you like this version of Lupin. That's the way I really picture him, since I've read the books, and I'm glad that I wasn't too influenced by more glamour versions, because that's how I really like him :)

And now, you have to write the story of their first reunion after the Shrieking Shack *pokes you*
I'm sure that you haven't multiple WIPs at the time, or have you? ;)

Sweetie, do you know how many fics I'm writing for you? Four more Tonks/Weasley fics, an Arthur/Molly... Whatever. It's a pleasure.

I actually wrote a post-PoA reunion fic, long long ago... It was my very first HP fanfic: Respite. There are parts of it I'm not altogether pleased with, but on the whole I like to story. No ships. At the time I was trying to decide whether or not I liked R/S, so I let them interact as friends. In the end, I decided they had chemistry. :)

Hey, I'm already very glad that you're willing to write even one fic for me! Promise, I won't ask for more :)

The way you went to Remus/Sirius is very similar to mine. I began imagining more of their interaction together, and realised that it could be only love. *goes off to read your fic*
