Experiments in Digital Painting

My sister and I have been trying our hands at digital painting...the real thing this time, instead of the quick smudging we usually do. Since Photoshop elements 8 came with our tablet, we decided to give it a try. I will tell you right now, the smudge tool sucks. It's beyond awful. I may try it again later, but I couldn't get it to blend anything. ( Read more... )

Of course she can go over and play!
I have been doing reseach on pirate ships so I can come up with something that will look like it can actually sail and not sink five minutes out of the harbor. That would be bad for the crew, and I think the captain would be really mad at me if her ship sank! lol, What I have looked at so far has given me lots of ideas!

Excellent! Wow, yeah she would be pissed if her boat wasn't sea worthy and sank right after she set sail. That'd almost be worse than Titanic with all that money she spent on it for her new toy to sink. ;)Talk about revenge, she'd be looking for both of us, LOL.

I highly recommend a book I bought called Man of War. It is a book of cross sections of an 18th century british war ship. I bought it used to help me get a good idea of how boats that size are laid out and what life is like on a boat since I've never been on one before and I don't want to sound like a moron to experienced sailors. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/156458321X

You might check to see if you can find it at your local library. :) If you end up wanting to buy it, I can compensate you for the purchase. :)

Thanks! Yeah, I used a tiger as a ref, and tried to modify the pose to her body shape, so it's a little odd.

The tablet is a Bamboo Fun, but isn't actually mine....we ordered it for the store, but since we hardly use it I took it home. ^ ^
