Wait, I thought you were reading Anna Karenina while we were at Donnor Lake? Or was that another Tolstoy book?

yeah, I started it. But only read about 40 pages of it. If that. so I've got a good 960 to go.

Oh, don't read The Great Gatsby, seriously, worst book ever, possibly tying with Uncle Tom's Cabin. F.Scott Fitzgerald needs to get over himself in a big way.

Read Love in the Time of Cholera instead, insanely wonderful, beautifully written, poignant... some fabulous lines...

hmmm...Love in the Time of Cholera will deffinitely go on my long term list. But I can't take off The Great Gatsby because it has come up too many times lately. And I've had at least 5 rave reviews of it. Uncle Tom's Cabin is another one that I have never read, but don't really intend to read either.

you disliked this book, yes? Why? I'm half way through it right now, and will be finished before tomorrow morning. I like it, it is fairly smooth reading, full of interesting scenes both social and natural, the characters are interesting, the narrator sympathetic and all in all it is a good book. Unless, of course, the second half devolves into banality, which is always a possibility with modern lit (well, it isn't exactly modern, but close enough).

so yeah, I was just wondering why you disliked it.
