WHAT IF? MEME
What is a "what if?" It's a question, of course, but one that either negates an aspect of canon, or introduces a new one. ExamplesPlot-based what if?: What if the Uchiha Massacre hadn't occurred? [pre-series]
--What if Sakura had followed Sasuke, the night he left Konoha? [in-series]
--What if Ino's Dad became Hogake and appointed Zetsu as the new leader of lol, Root? [post-series]
Character-based what if?: What if Iruka hadn't shown Naruto kindness for all those years?
Concept-based what if?: What if ninja remained nomadic clans, rather than becoming established villages?
Fourth Wall what if?: What if Naruto had been written by [insert writer of choice here]?
I'm afraid I've given a rather shoddy impression of this meme because of these examples, but surely I trust the rest of you are much better at this than me! I'm just trying to highlight how many ways this prompt can be taken.
+ Pick a character(s), a situation, a scene. Ask a "what if" question about them.
+ Your post most be ANONYMOUS.
+ For organizational purposes, please post the What If? question in the subject line of the comment.
+ For every request you make try to fill out AT LEAST one request. Give and you shall recieve.
+ Please DO NOT (1) second, third, or fourth requests. It's a proven fact that this makes the prompt less and less likely to be written; or (2) claim a prompt. As multiple replies to a given prompt are both allowed and encouraged, there is no reason to feel pressured into claiming something.
+ Make sure to watch the threads you start, so you'll know when your request has been filled/if any anon has replied asking for a clarification of your prompt.
+ Feel free to rec this far and wide!
