I very much enjoyed reading this. The parallel lines of discourse built up the layers in Zabuza's hardened character very effectively. On the surface, there's this history of twisted events which the killer/tool part of Zabuza accepts dispassionately. Faced with that, it follows naturally that he would turn out as a bad man and so there is no reason for him to feel any kind of guilt or regret about his raging cruelty. Then underneath that "apathy", there's all this repressed resentment and pain and sorrow - his human side - that I imagine Zabuza himself barely knows how to acknowledge. Excellent job! ;)
