She stared at the red clouds of the sunset, inwardly admiring their beauty from her perch on the cliff. The sheer majesty of their expanse spread out over an unending horizon brought about a sense of wonder in her mind.
Could the heavens be at war too?
Fingers twitching, she turned away from the sky, and looked back at the equally red ground. Seeing the mutilated body, she reached out with both her hands and lovingly pulled Sasuke’s detached head closer, smearing more blood into the dirt as she did so.
Seeing his pale, pale face had never made her happier.
