Actually, she'd been allowed to have guests for quite some time now. A few weeks, really. But the hospital had known better than to directly bring this up to Aki's attention; he was just... a bit too much to handle, really.
But yes - awake and allowed to have guests Asuka was, even if she wasn't entirely thrilled about the whole thing. True, the only regular visitor she had was Shikako (who always brought her shougi board) and Konohako (who brought her the mail every few days), but even their presence was taxing. And tiring. Especially... when she didn't really want to see anyoneSuch was life

He grinned again and then scratched at his head a little sheepishly.
"I swear I was here earlier but they weren't letting anyone but family in." He didn't want her to think he hadn't wanted to see her. "Its good ta see you."
Gray eyes warmed a bit. It was very good to see her. Aki had missed her.
She gave him a lopsided smile, one corner of her mouth hiking up higher than the other. "No worries," she replied. It was a rather tall order, saying only family could visit when she only had one family member alive who could, but whatever. To be honest, she was getting increasingly antisocial the longer she stayed, and kind of wished for the same visitation restrictions she'd had before, but... again, one of the things she'd just have to live with. She could deal with the people who wanted to see her now, now, and lock her doors when she got home.
Dropping the flyer in the box of mail setting on the rolling table next to her, Asuka made a brief gesture at the chairs pushed up against the wall. "Take a seat. I sure am."
He looked at her quietly for a moment, blinked and then said, "Oh!"
Grabbing the covered basket, Aki grinned a bit. "Brought ya some things." Hopefully stuff that would make her grin, even snerk a bit. And keep her from getting bored too - Aki remembered how horrid long stays in the hospital could be, how dull and mind-numbing.
Asuka was marginally certain that Aki was, in fact, a rather nice guy that just regressed mentally in age now and then and would not, after all, do something quite that malicious to poor Rin. Despite that, she felt it prudent to swat him on his knee (that was all she could reach) as he at least pretended to give the idea serious consideration. You never went wrong with giving occasional warnings when it came to Aki.
"I don't sound like your mom," she repeated. "I don't even want to think about being anything like your mom. Coz that would bring our relationship to a whole new level of ick."
