Oh, I really need to start up Rune Factory. I got the first one...then picked up the second one before even playing 5 minutes of the first one, and I haven't touched the second one at all. (Bad habit of mine: buying multiple games for a series I haven't even tried out just because it "seems" like something I'd like. Luckily, I'm fairly good at guessing on games I'd probably like.)
I've been thinking of picking up Frontier for my mom's b-day, since she's played the heck out of the regular Harvest Moon series, but RF has RPG elements to it, and she has zero interest in that, so I'm not sure.
I know nothing about this series so I couldn't give you any advice, but Frontier looks absolutely gorgeous. I want to play it just for the graphics XD;
I'm not sure how much of a difference it will make, since as far as I can tell it only means that IF there's a French edition than they have to sell that too.
Goodness, I hope you get well soon. :< Maybe the emo gets out easier when you're feeling all sick and weak? It does for me. And then nobody minds putting up with emo Adi. THIS IS WHAT I THINK.
Also, this stuff about the game laws bothers me. PAL regions are just a tad mistreated, aren't they? And I think it comes from attempts to protect jobs for developers and translators in regions that are not the US and Japan. How is some law that (kind of, sort of) protects the French language in one country going to keep Square and Namco from rolling their eyes and going, "Aw, but we don't FEEL like doing an extra traaaack D:" tl;dr region locks infuriate me!!!!!
Thank you :) It's not so much emo as anxiety that I can't dispel by myself. Hopefully the doctor will prove that it's nothing and then I can tell myself to stop being ridiculous.
French language laws are SPECIAL (on a blingual sign the French text has to be bigger, stuff like that) and this one was clearly drafted by people who knew nothing about games. However it seems that this law already applied to PC games and didn't change much, so we'll see what effects this ends up having.

Okay, that new law makes me angry. Err, I ended up ranting for a whole paragraph so I'll spare you and just post it up on my LJ. ^^;
