I said I was going to make a long entry and now I can't think of anything to say. That said, this is probably still going to turn into a Russian novel. I'm such a blowhard. :(

...What do you know, it did. This is looooooooooong, so I'm lj-cutting in sections.

First, school! ( Read more... )

On books: I discovered yesterday that George Eliott is/was, in fact, a woman! (I think Gila wanted to punch me for not knowing that. GO ME.)
--Ooh books. I may steal 'em from you >D

And YES you're watching Avatar! I don't really notice much in terms of 'is it well animated' unless the art is SILLY or the pacing is off/jerky (also, YouTube video quality is not that high), but you're the resident animatronix!
I muchly enjoy Avatar. It is silly and serious and heart-wrenching and omigod Sokka you are such an idiot, all within the same episode! I am really hoping that what you thought might happen to Iroh doesn't. Because, you know, awesome old dude with the lotus tile in his sleeve and the tea.

Character ZUKO has joined your party! Gain 50 EXP! Gain ability 'SMARTMOUTH'!

It's written Eliot, by the way. ;)

You may indeed. But I'm reading Rumpole right now!

I would actually really like to watch Avatar on DVD, because you're right that it's hard to judge this way. But. Ummmm. I really need a part-time job.

Anyway! Next two episodes next week, right? :D Wanna watch it together?

I'm telling you, Zuko's the Red Ranger. Or the Blue one when he wears that stupid mask. Either way he has to join or the aesthetics won't be right! I'm rooting for him to master Firebending so he can teach Aang, the same way Katara magically became omnipotent over the course of a few episodes. (Oh MAN that episode where she duels Paka (?) was so fantastic~!) Mostly because I'd like to see Aang skiving off lessons or pulling stupid tricks as usual and Zuko TRYING. VERY. HARD. not to explode. Plus there's always Momo sitting on Zuko's head while Zuko is tapping his foot and trying to be dignified. Etc etc. It's just too potentially funny to pass up ( ... )

IS IT? The school library has it WRONG! Ognoes. Gila looked like she would hit me with Middlemarch and that book is BIG.

Combined, is he the Purple Ranger? HEEHEE. --Toph is the Yellow Ranger, she was way less girly than Pink. But Katara isn't very Pink-Ranger-y, either! And maybe Aang should be Yellow 'cause of his clothing but he's not a girl.

I hope that's what happens in the new episodes, then. Or at least sometime this season. ANTICS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME, ESPECIALLY WITH ZUKO-PRODDING.

--and sure, if we have time to! And THAT IS WHY I hate bein' fifteen. No way to get monies for things! but if neither of us has got the dvds by january then maybe--

I really love watching the Benders in this show, especially the Waterbenders. The movement is always just so--so--I don't know how to describe it, but it's awesome, the way they're based off of, like, tai chi and things and you can see that, and it is pretty and makes me wonder how someone gets this ability to Bend and is it a genetic mutation or what?

(--He wants to be a great hero ( ... )

Wow, you sure read a lot within a week. D8 How long does it take you to normally read a book? And do you usually try to finish reading a book in one sitting or with more breaks?

I don`t read as much as I used to, but the past few weeks I`ve started taking out books seriously again. I certainly haven`t read them all this week, though XD;; I can read a typical three-hundred-page novel in an evening, though it varies depending on the subject matter and the style of writing. Someone with very ornate writing like C.J. Cherryh (where every sentence is a mile long and full of sophisticated language) can take me much longer.

Breaks depend on how interesting the book is and if I`m hungry in the middle. The more the book annoys me, the more I`ll be inclined to stop reading or skip ahead to see if it gets better, and if it`s just very boring I don`t pick it up again. (I get on my siblings`nerves for skipping forward in books. If there`s a section where the main character is humiliated, I skip it. Same with Les Miserables where I ignored all the long digressions on Paris`s sewer system and skipped to the fight scenes, though that was a long time ago already. XD;)

Thanks :D Good luck to you, too!

That's the good thing about university, you can choose your own program. Eeeeeverything might be a bit much though~! :P

I first heard about it from tricianna, and then my sister recommended it, so I tried it and I like it too. :)
