That's how I'll probably go about it too, if I ever do decide to marry in spite of everything. I think adding your spouse's last name to your own can be kind of neat (if both change their names accordingly, that is), but I agree: I would never change it, especially considering you'd have to pay to change it back if you ever break up.

See, I agree with most of this, although... I do think that weddings are kinda cool in concept. It makes me feel a little silly to say that and to be like YEAH, GAY MARRIAGE, though, since I could never picture myself getting married. Idk, it's weird to me that I want to have the right to marry even though I can't picture myself ever even being in a romantic relationship, much less married. :/

I don't see anything contradictionary in wanting equal rights for everyone and not intending to make use of those rights. To me, that's like saying it's strange to be for gay rights/racial equality/equality between men and women if you yourself are not a part of the opressed minority in question. It's the principle that counts, regardless of whether it affects you personally or not.

On an unrelated note - I've been meaning to comment on several of your latest entries, but just... haven't. It's likely because those comments would have taken time and thought to write, and thus my procrastinative streak kicked in. How do you feel about very late comments?

Yeah, you're probably right. It just makes me feel a bit odd given that one of the things people spout out against gay marriage (or just gay rights in general) is that 'Oh, gay people are totally promiscuous and not really interested in anything monogamous anyway.' It's like my response would have to be, 'Yeah we are! I mean, not me. But, uh, other people.' It would be a good way for me to make a fool of myself.

OMG NO LATE COMMENTS!!1 Eh, I totally understand late commenting; personally I always forget to do things.

Also, LJ sent me, like, four emails for this one comment. And I was like >.> .......

I'd say that would make you a perfect live example of a gay person who is not promiscuous, personally. A point can be made without use of sarcasm, although that's not as much fun.

Believe it or not; I know people who dislike getting late comments. I'm glad. *goes comment, hopefully within this millenium*

Oh, that's my fault entirely! I reposted that comment several times to fix typos.
