He's been here a few days now, yet to find his father or the other Narnians, but just being here in case something happens makes him feel a little better

After a few moments, he asks carefully, "would you prefer to stay here tonight, if it would make you feel safer? I'm well used to camping out, so it would be no hardship, and I would have you sleep well in the knowledge that I shan't let anyone harm you."
"And I would not have you think that of me, Anghared. But you need rest to recover, and if you would sleep better with someone guarding the door, then I am willing to act as guardian for you while you sleep this night."
She considers-- inwardly weighing a number of factors.
However, it is only a few moments before she says softly, "I thank you for your kind offer, Rilian, but surely I will be safe enough locked in my own chamber."
She looks troubled at the quality of the smile, and so teases him lightly, saying, "And here it was you, my lord, who told me that in your Narnia everyone is honored."
His own voice is soft, his eyes melancholy.
After a moment, he stands, retrieving a jewel-hilted dagger, sheathed in soft leather, from the desk.
"I would have you carry this, my lady, that you might be better able to defend yourself if it came to that again."

"But-- such a valuable gift-- I cannot--"

"You can, Anghared. Your safety is more valuable than any material thing I might own."

"My lord--" She falters, or seems to. "Rilian." Anghared smiles. "Thank you."

"You are welcome, Anghared."

A beat, and she looks up at him once more.
"Surely it cannot be so dangerous as all that?"

He smiles reassuringly, sipping his tea.
"Allow me to escort you back, at least. This night has not been easy for you, I fear."

"Less trouble than it might have been, had I not chanced to encounter you," she murmurs. "And accept I will, the gracious escort that you offer."

Holding the dagger carefully in one hand, she slowly rises from the chair.
