I think of the gospel as very simple and clear. But simplicity doesn't always mean it is easy. We have complicated our lives today so much that a lot of people find it hard to accept that the Gospel could have been this simple. We always try to look for hidden meanings, cross references and all of the mental heuristics when in fact the message is really just that.

Its really more of a whether you accept it to be true or not. And if it is, what is its implication to the life you're living now. The reason people find it so hard to accept is more on the implication it places upon their lives. That what they have been living for their entire lives is futile and that Jesus is really the way.
