Ugh.

I'm ill. It started with sharp pains in my stomach on Friday night when I was at the High Noon Saloon for the Dr. Dog concert. The biting stomach pains--so painful I double over every time one hits--have persisted to the present. They last for about five seconds each, usually two or three in a row, and hit about every 30 minutes. For the last 48 ( Read more... )

That does not sound fun at all.

Nothing like that going around here, but you guys seem to get the same bugs we get on the East Coast a few weeks earlier. They must travel west to east.

My brother had appendicitis a number of years ago, and on Saturday he asked me a bunch of questions about where the pain was and how it felt, etc. I'm pretty certain I don't have anything serious like that. Still have the fever today, but the stomach pain is less frequent. Could be because I started the pills I was prescribed, or it could be because the virus is leaving my body. Either way, I'm glad.

I had similar once that went away on its own (went to urgent care and nothing helped - not even their mega-antacid cocktail), and after talking to other people I later self-diagnosed it as gall stones. Since you've spiked a fever, it wouldn't hurt to look into appendicitis - that wasn't an option for me because mine was taken out when I was an infant, but you might want to check with your doctor. It's often misdiagnosed.

Good luck!

My mom mentioned gall bladder problems as a potential source of the stomach pain. I'll go back to the doc if the pills she prescribed don't work. I talked with my brother on Saturday about appendicitis. He had it a few years ago, and my symptoms don't align with his. Though if I continue to feel sick and the fever sticks around, I'll go back to the doc.
