Snape seemed amused. Probably felt vindicated, the prick. "I'm sure we can work something out, for suitable compensation, I assume."
"For you, sir? Eighty galleons." He wouldn't need to work again that week.
"For a street whore."
"For seven years of hell. And a blow job."

He gasped as the cold water hit, breath catching, harsh and ragged. His lean form sliding down the cold tile of the shower wall to sit under the spray. Water pounding the back of his head, droplets glittering on his eyelashes, then falling through the white curl of his breath to land on pale knees, clutched by long fingered hands.
He didn't notice his teeth chattering, only the blessed numbness seeping through his shoulders, down his spine, the drumming of the water driving thoughts of lips and skin and warmth away. Black hair hanging cold and heavy, unpleasant against his face. Shaking fingers moving to absently rub against the dark stain on his arm.
Merlin, but he would lose everything. Everything. How could it come to this?
Dark eyes followed the water swirling around his feet, barely aware of the ache building in them from the cold floor. In his mind, he saw it again, the pale face as he had drawn back from that brief kiss, the look of confusion turning to shock. Deep brown eyes suddenly overbright. Heard the small sound of disbelief. And even then, his eyes had followed the teeth that worried a bright bottom lip, his hand had been unable to stop reaching to touch that pale cheek, to trace a tear. Unable to stop himself noticing the swirl and brush of fabric, and the sharp sound of shoes on stone, as the boy had run.
How had he fallen so hard he couldn't catch himself, even then? He had followed. His own boots hammering a tattoo on the floor, easily reaching the other, his hands gripping a shoulder, spinning the form to face him, brown eyes almost level with his own, his arm dropping then, suddenly numb, at the look of betrayal. Reality hit, he had turned and bolted, retreating to his rooms and locking himself in.
His hands reached up and scrubbed at his face, as if he could somehow remove the memory. Unable to stop seeing those eyes, the soft brown hair, square, solid hands making him think of plants, and greenhouses.
There was knocking at the door now. Pounding. Then the bright flare of a spell as the door crashed open. But it didn't matter. Nothing mattered. He turned red eyes up to face whoever the boy had told.
Only, they weren't there. He was. He. Was here. Gods. Numb lips moved, trying to form words, an apology, an explanation, anything, but nothing would come. He had never meant to hurt, never. He had only thought...but what did it matter? He closed his eyes again, thin shoulders slumping, waiting for whatever would come.
Sound of soft steps on the tile, the water suddenly shut off. Freezing drops from his hair burning trails over his skin. Then warmth, unthinkable, a towel draped quietly over his shaking neck, a corner bought up to his face, brushing his cheeks, eyes, then slightly roughened fingers under his chin, forcing him to look.
Brown tear filled eyes, earnest, searching, searing into his own. Searching, finding. A small, disbelieving smile. Words soft, barely audible. "You meant it?"
Falling into those eyes, moments stretching. Hope flickering, sudden, moth wings against his heart, his breath catching again, as if from cold.
Then movement, blessed warmth against his skin, hands gripping his shoulders, the back of his neck, pulling him in. Hot breath on his face, finally, finally, the press of those lips against his own. Tasting, needing, wanting. Pulling away. No.
Forcing words past unwilling lips, once more unable to stop. Lost.
"Yes."

He gasped as the cold water hit, breath catching, harsh and ragged. His lean form sliding down the cold tile of the shower wall to sit under the spray. Water pounding the back of his head, droplets glittering on his eyelashes, then falling through the white curl of his breath to land on pale knees, clutched by long fingered hands.
He didn't notice his teeth chattering, only the blessed numbness seeping through his shoulders, down his spine, the drumming of the water driving thoughts of lips and skin and warmth away. Black hair hanging cold and heavy, unpleasant against his face. Shaking fingers moving to absently rub against the dark stain on his arm.
Merlin, but he would lose everything. Everything. How could it come to this?
Dark eyes followed the water swirling around his feet, barely aware of the ache building in them from the cold floor. In his mind, he saw it again, the pale face as he had drawn back from that brief kiss, the look of confusion turning to shock. Deep brown eyes suddenly overbright. Heard the small sound of disbelief. And even then, his eyes had followed the teeth that worried a bright bottom lip, his hand had been unable to stop reaching to touch that pale cheek, to trace a tear. Unable to stop himself noticing the swirl and brush of fabric, and the sharp sound of shoes on stone, as the boy had run.
How had he fallen so hard he couldn't catch himself, even then? He had followed. His own boots hammering a tattoo on the floor, easily reaching the other, his hands gripping a shoulder, spinning the form to face him, brown eyes almost level with his own, his arm dropping then, suddenly numb, at the look of betrayal. Reality hit, he had turned and bolted, retreating to his rooms and locking himself in.
His hands reached up and scrubbed at his face, as if he could somehow remove the memory. Unable to stop seeing those eyes, the soft brown hair, square, solid hands making him think of plants, and greenhouses.
There was knocking at the door now. Pounding. Then the bright flare of a spell as the door crashed open. But it didn't matter. Nothing mattered. He turned red eyes up to face whoever the boy had told.
Only, they weren't there. He was. He. Was here. Gods. Numb lips moved, trying to form words, an apology, an explanation, anything, but nothing would come. He had never meant to hurt, never. He had only thought...but what did it matter? He closed his eyes again, thin shoulders slumping, waiting for whatever would come.
Sound of soft steps on the tile, the water suddenly shut off. Freezing drops from his hair burning trails over his skin. Then warmth, unthinkable, a towel draped quietly over his shaking neck, a corner bought up to his face, brushing his cheeks, eyes, then slightly roughened fingers under his chin, forcing him to look.
Brown tear filled eyes, earnest, searching, searing into his own. Searching, finding. A small, disbelieving smile. Words soft, barely audible. "You meant it?"
Falling into those eyes, moments stretching. Hope flickering, sudden, moth wings against his heart, his breath catching again, as if from cold.
Then movement, blessed warmth against his skin, hands gripping his shoulders, the back of his neck, pulling him in. Hot breath on his face, finally, finally, the press of those lips against his own. Tasting, needing, wanting. Pulling away. No.
Forcing words past unwilling lips, once more unable to stop. Lost.
"Yes."
