Let's play a game of "guess that quote!"

Jan 13, 2012 15:08

So today I am alternating grading midterms with working on writing. And to keep me sane through the one and motivated on the other, have some lines, from a variety of different word documents I'm staring at sadly today. (This may or may not continue to update over the course of the day.)

This got long )

i am a tease, snippets, /o\, teaching

Hey, I have to keep myself motivated somehow, right? :)

And: yes. Yes, this place purports to be a college. Hell, it apparently claims accreditation as an actual university.

My greatest fictional-character dream in life? To go out for beers with the biology teacher from S3 of 'Community' so we can share our sob stories and commiserate over the decline and fall of our nation. I empathize with that character way too well to speak well of my own sanity.

No. They ask for one, solitary, just-turned-eighteen-year-old boy.

If it didn't mean the whole world would fall with them, Tilda would wish them all to hell."

Oh shit is getting real. *makes grabby hands* I can just picture Kurt's face when Blarry lets him know he's wanted back in England to fight.

re: essays. *ouch* I'm hoping these are new students but really even as college freshman, these are pretty rough. *feels bad for you as a prof*

Ooooh, you make me feel cruel.

It might interest you to know that I didn't feel like I had any snippets from Harry Potter and the Boy from Lima that I could include on this list without spoilering the whole thing. So I pulled three paragraphs out of the first scene of Blaine Anderson and the Final Horcrux. Coming to a theater near you, summer 2012.

I basically teach one step below community college. There is no bottom threshhold. There is just sharing the pain with LJ.

Anticipation is good for me. I figure it's similar to when I accidentally read book one of a trilogy that's just been published and have to wait for the rest of the story :)

I wasn't sure if The Boy from Lima would have progressed so far into the future with part two. Good to know.

LJ is always there for you and can help mock your students in an attempt to ease the pain.
