"I want to see the city."

As soon as Myungsoo said it, he immediately moved away from Sungyeol's ear. Sungyeol had had quite a hard time comprehending Myungsoo's voice the first few times he'd talked to him. His voice sounded like wind oftentimes and although his voice was high-pitched, it still didn't help.

Sungyeol had gotten used to it by now.

He turned to Myungsoo on his left, who was looking intently at a bush of poppy Sungyeol was watering. He was waiting for Sungyeol to finish watering his mother's side of the garden so that he can sprinkle it, Sungyeol knew. With what, Sungyeol had never known. "Then just see it," he said, moving onto the next bush.

"I can't just go looking like this," Myungsoo said. Sungyeol watched Myungsoo's fluttering wings as he flew towards the bush he'd been eyeing earlier and did his thing, that was, dotting the bush with glitter-like sprinkles. It was fairy dust, alright. Like what Tinkerbell had? Sungyeol wasn't sure. "Come with me."

Sungyeol looked up at the bright sky of the summer afternoon. The sunlight alone convinced him that yes it would be good to go out today. He bit the inside of his cheeks, thinking. He was actually planning on lazing around after this. Watch some TV, do nothing but slouch in the couch. Then he looked down and saw Myungsoo right in front of his face, looking at him, hopeful, and he'd hate to be the guy who upset a little fairy.

"Alright," Sungyeol finally relented.

.

Myungsoo expressed his thank you by making a bunch of dead leaves chase after him in order for him to change quickly. Sungyeol stayed put at first, and the leaves crashed into his back and it felt like being hit with a snowball and a tennis ball at the same time. It stayed as a reminder to never mess with Myungsoo.

Sungyeol came out with a blue shirt he hadn't worn in ages, but it had a chest pocket. "I figure," he beckoned Myungsoo to come closer. He did, tilting his head questioningly at Sungyeol's open palm, but landed on it anyway. "You can be here and no one will notice." He gently placed Myungsoo inside his chest pocket. It was deep enough to cover the fairy's body but left his entire head peeking out.

"What if someone does notice?" Myungsoo asked, loud enough for Sungyeol to hear.

"Then I'll just say you're, uh," He hadn't really thought about it yet. "a pocket-sized doll for my, uh, niece."

Myungsoo peeked up at him and beamed. Sungyeol could feel his tiny, dragonfly-like wings flapping weakly in his shirt pocket due to constriction, but it told Sungyeol just how excited the little guy is.

.

Sungyeol showed him only the east side of the city as it was very big, but Myungsoo didn't have to know that. As they were crossing the street to get to a park, Myungsoo told him that he had never been to this park before. He almost flew out of Sungyeol's pocket in excitement of seeing a land full of plants he knew of, but hardly ever seen. Luckily, Sungyeol managed to keep him in.

Myungsoo tugged on his shirt and Sungyeol glanced at him before lowering his head towards Myungsoo. "I've always wanted to try ice cream," the garden fairy admitted, hands around his mouth.

"Okay," Sungyeol answered with a shrug.

He bought a vanilla ice cream from a vendor in the park because it was the cheapest (plus, he thought, you can never go wrong with vanilla). He sat on a bench under one of many maple trees in the park. "Here you go," Sungyeol handed him the ice cream and Myungsoo finally flew out of the pocket to lick it. Sungyeol found it adorable how the ice cream and the fairy were almost at the same height, the latter slightly taller.

"It's cold," Myungsoo scrunched up his nose, his whole body including his wings shivered a little.

"Well, we don't call it "ice" for nothing."

Myungsoo nipped at the top of the ice cream before flying towards Sungyeol's ear to say, "It's delicious, though." And then he proceeded to glide around the trunk of the tree before ascending, ascending, and then he was gone between the leaves. The only thing that made Sungyeol sure he was still there was the rustling of leaves.

"Myungsoo?" Sungyeol half-whispered, half-shouted. "Get back here!"

The rustling stopped. Sungyeol was about to stand up and get him himself when the fairy suddenly fell from a branch, and Sungyeol opened up his free palm in reflex. But he should've known Myungsoo was playing with him because a few inches before he touched Sungyeol's hand, his wings fluttered open and he circled Sungyeol's head before stopping in front of him, licking the ice cream in his hand.

"What are you doing?"

Sungyeol was answered with scattered flower petals chasing after him and he couldn't get out of the shade without Myungsoo so he just jogged around the bench to humor him. It worked, though, Myungsoo was laughing. One of the things he liked about his garden fairy was his laughter. It sounded like wind chimes gently blown by the wind on a hot summer day, much like today. He had never met any fairy other than Myungsoo so he was actually curious whether all fairies laughed like that.

"I'm sorry," Myungsoo's laughter had turned into giggles as he lowered his hand and all the petals immediately dropped to the ground. He was still giggling when he placed himself back into Sungyeol's chest pocket, and it made Sungyeol smile behind his ice cream.

He had always liked the sound of wind chimes.
