Nostalgia alert! God, I want to go and reread the series all over again now and moan over its unexpected hiatus.
Hnnnghh, I totally want to go to that garden place. It looks like such a peaceful, quiet place in the middle of a busy city -- and that's somehow oddly comforting. Although, I sort of want to go and see the Japanese countryside for myself next time..../blames ghibli for that/
OH GOD I KNOW. I re-read the series while looking for all the kekkai, and when I got to the end, I almost screamed out loud. And then there's always rumors that they're picking it up again and then they don't and it just makes it worse...
There's actually a lot of really peaceful, quiet places in the middle of Tokyo; there's a bunch of parks that are actually fairly large and chill-worthy, and it was always nice to go there are just "escape" from Tokyo...
LOL <3<3<3 my friend and I talked about the same thing when we went to Tokyo XD we only saw the most main places though (we didn't do much research before hand, so it was actually flipping through X at Book Off that gave us most ideas) - I was really sad because we only got to see the Rainbow Bridge from Tokyo Tower, not actually go there (but I'm so happy I got to see the Tokyo Tower! Before it was destroyed again), and I didn't get the Rainbow Bridge charm either *still cries about this*. :')
Lol, awww. The first time I was in tokyo, I didn't get to do/see /anything/, or I was super close to them, but didn't get to really go to them, with the exception of Tokyo Tower.
I really want to re-read Tokyo Babylon; I picked up the original print from Book-Off for cheap, and I want to test knowledge of both Japanese and the series by going through them.
lol X/1999 was my first manga. I miss being in the city too! Hong Kong was awesome! I actually liked the train system there tons more than Tokyo because it wasn't so complicated. It was really straight-forward and you could get anywhere and see anyone. I hate having to drive myself out to a friend's house now. xD
awww, that's sweet. X/1999 would've been mine if I'd had access to more than one volume at the time; I borrowed it from a friend and got so confused that it took me about three years after that to pick it up for actual.
