I didn't read the tread before it was removed, but I totally agree with you.

I thought you chose B.A. as the agressor because he's the only one who can physical overpower Hannibal and not because he was the black guy.

Writing an abusive relationship is always difficult because it can so easily by misinterpreted. I think you're doing an excellent job in describing both B.A.'s and Hannibal's motivations and reactions. And the reactions of Face, Murdock and B.A.'s mum.

Stay strong.

Hugs Star.

One lesson you'll learn quickly - if you want to survive as a writer in fanfic or original - is to ignore reviews. Even the good ones. Acknowledge the fact they took time to comment and move on. There are people who will find racism in everything; there are people who will find sexism in everything; there are people who will be offended by something no matter what one writes. To me, having BA the rapist makes perfect sense because he's the only one who has a serious enough gripe with any of the others to do it. It's not because he's black - it's because he's the one that keeps getting knocked out and put on planes when he's scared to death of flying. And the background you gave him makes his actions logical - not defensible, but logical.

Ignore the assholes. You aren't going to change their minds and it does you no good whatsoever to dwell on their comments.

I'm sorry this happened to you.
I think that sometimes people mistake a story and things in it as what the writer honestly thinks. When in fact that is not true at all. People forget that Writer's are writer's and that the story - in fan fic cases - are entirely fictional and do not reflect anything about the writer at all.

The anon who "gave" you that comment is in the wrong.
