first review!

Eeeee, my very first review ever! And it is a good one, too, so I can skip about with gleeful abandon all the better. (Although I hasten to announce, to propitiate the review-gods, that I am prepared for the negatives when they come, too ( Read more... )

I saw that and ordered the hardcover. Looking forward to reading it.

And don't take it too personally. Rick Kleffel seems to like everything. 8Þ

Sweet!!! I can't wait to get my hands on them! :)

But I fear I am confused. Are Temeraire and His Majesty's Dragon the same book with different titles? That strikes me as rather odd. But I freely admit I know squat about publishing. :)

Yes, they are. Books frequently have different titles in the US and the UK.

It was actually a last-minute thing, in this case -- Temeraire was agreed on for the title by both my US and UK editors, and then after the UK edition was already in production, the US marketing folks belatedly came back and asked for it to be changed.

What, what, book three will have scenes in Turkey?! Yay!

I think I asked this before, but do the books ever go to Asia?

Finally, congratulations on your massive marketing campaign. The books deserve to reach a wide audience, and I didn't want to have to do all the promoting myself. (I've already promised to buy copies for my step-mother and my uncle.)

They go to China!

Hee, they do indeed! China in book 2 and Istanbul in book 3. And parts beyond after that. (I need more excuses to travel! ;-)

And man, I am a little overwhelmed with the marketing thing. I mean, I don't know if the standees and giant heaped piles in airports will actually materialize *g*, but it's amazingly cool how much support both the publishers are putting behind the books. Now I just have to hope it works! eek

Yes, you're hearing about them here first, but don’t worry, you won't be able to miss them. This is the kind of series that gets launched with standees in the bookstore, and unless you trip over the display, you'll not have a hard time finding them.

THIS IS SO WONDERFUL. *squeals*

also, how utterly awesome is it that your first ever review came from a site called TRASHOTRON. Such glee.

I'm not going to read the review until I've had a chance to do so myself - but hoorah!!!
