Gender Nonconforming or Creative

In the news coverage of the controversy at Nova Classical Academy, it's really clear to me that some people have no earthly idea what "gender nonconforming" is and how it differs from being trans, so let me talk about that, just briefly

That was very interesting, thank you. I don't have any emotional resonance with gender mismatches. At current time, I'm doing all my empathizing intellectually.

I hadn't thought about it from the non-conforming boys' side. I'm comfortable as a woman, but consider myself non-conforming because a lot of 'girly' stuff - makeup especially - seems icky to me and I like to play with power tools.

It's all too true though that 'tomboy' girls have more acceptance than boys who like pretty dresses.

I think intellectual empathy is totally fine. I started from a place of, "I don't understand this at all, but I don't have to really understand in order to take people seriously and listen with respect when they tell me about their lives."
