Did you notice that the "Frank" behind that website identifies himself as a former "Jewish-United Methodist pastor"? Bwuh? Admittedly, I find free-floating theological dietetic reform of any type slightly scary. (And I say this as a woman who can quote Rabbi Kook on the impossibility of restoring animal sacrifices in the Temple.)

The actual recipe, OTOH, suffers from the problem I have with many carob-based recipes, which is that they sound as if they'd be a lot yummier either (a) without the carob or (b) with chocolate/cocoa instead. I object to Substitute Foods. Carob is tasty on its own; there must be some way to display it as such.

But that's "of the bean/pea/legume family," isn't it, not "as a result of the bean/pea/legume family"? I see how "bean-related" could be taken either way... still, a leguminous breakdown sounds entertaining. ;)

Everyone likes Sean Bean. Well, OK, I mostly just like Boromir, but I am willing to cut all sorts of slack for that.

That said, I don't think he would have been very good in my soup either.
