Because they said it couldn't be done, I present to you a Dean/Castiel fanmix comprised entirely of songs by the fabulous Britpop group The Divine Comedy.
Aside from being generally obsessed, the immortal words of Jarvis Cocker were kind of my inspiration for this (ie. "I'm not Jesus Christ, I just have the same initials," and this works the same way, except with DC, and I'm not convinced that Neil Hannon isn't Jesus).
In case you were wondering, this is pure crack; but in a weird way, it works. I owe it to
swing_set13 for insisting that, yes, this really could be the best fanmix of all time. Turns out we were right. And not just because it sounds like the lovechild between Jarvis Cocker and Tom Jones.

Track Listing:
1) Everybody Knows (Except You)
I told the stars above/ About the one I love/ I told the morning sun/ Yeah I'm telling everyone/ I told my mum and dad/ They seemed to understand/ And I'll get through to you/ If it's the last thing that I do
2) I'm All You Need
Baby I'm in love with you/ And my love could go on and on/ Maybe you could love me too/ And our love could go on and on
3) Queen of the South
Please don't look at me that way/ You'll only make me want to say/ Something I will regret/ You are April you are May/ What a stupid thing to say/ Just forgive me and forget/ That I ever opened my mouth/ And let it all come out/ Let it all flood out
4) Someone
Someone made me see/ How someone like me/ Needn't be so closed/ Just 'cos they once chose to be/ I need to be someone's somebody
5) In Pursuit of Happiness
And hey, I'm not the kind/ To fall in love without good reason/ And if that's a crime/ Then baby I'm committing high treason/ 'Cos when you're with me/ I'm absolutely/ And totally/ Quite uncontrollably happy
6) When a Man Cries
But when a man cries it's choked and throttled/ It's all been bottled up for far to long/ And when at last the pressure cooker blows/ It's hard to stem the flow
7) Charmed Life
When I hold you in my arms/ And look back on my charmed life, my charmed life, I hope, baby I hope if nothing more/ That one day you'll call your life a charmed life
8) Songs of Love
Fate doesn't hang, on a wrong or right choice/ Fortune depends, on the tone of your voice/ So sing while you have time, let the sun shine down from above/ And fill you with songs of love
9) Sticks & Stones
You and I go together like the molar and the drill
10) Party Fears Two
Don't turn around/ I won't have to look at you/ And what's not found/ Is all that I see in you
11) Becoming More Like Alfie
Once there was a time when my mind lay on higher things/ And once there was a time I could find pretty words to sing/ But now, well now I find it saves time to say what you mean/ I know it seems so unrefined
12) Bad Ambassador
I'm a bad ambassador for that elusive place you're searching for/ I wanna show you so much more/ But maybe some other time
13) Eye of the Needle
They say that you'll hear him if you're really listening/ And pray for that feeling of grace/ But that's what I'm doing, why doesn't he answer?/ I've prayed 'til I'm blue in the face
14) Death of a Supernaturalist
See my solitude, where once was truth now only doubt/ Touch my tortured skin, torn from within and from without/ Kiss my blistered lips, my fingertips frost-bitten and grey/ Heal my wound within, and watch the dead skin fall away
15) Tonight We Fly
And when we die/ Oh, will we be/ That disappointed/ Or sad/ If heaven doesn't exist/ What will we have missed/ This life is the best we've ever had
Enjoy, and accept my sincere apologies in advance if this is the most cracked-out thing I've ever dreamed up. The Divine Comedy is just one of those things; either you get it or you don't.
