ebook publishing question

I have light years before I'll ever be ready to publish something, so I've never looked into any of it, online or offline.

But a friend of mine is trying to get a story of hers published. I asked her if she had tried ebooks. She said she hadn't and asked me for information. Well ... I don't know anything about them either ~_~  So of course, I want ( Read more... )

Well when I said I didn't know anything about it, I was being completely honest. I guess I'll just have to tell her to try to contact some of the ebook publishers like she does the paper ones ... And just keep trying :)

I dont know about one versus the other but... you're friend might want to look into something lulu.com It works almost exactly like cafepress.com, that is to say, you pick out the layout for your book and they give you a base price from there you get to mark it up and for every book that you sell you get the mark up portion of the cost of your book. They also allow you to buy your own isbn number which will get your book into bookstores and libraries. It might be worth checking out. This is what I'll be using because you can sell your books online in any format physical or e-book for free and an isbn number is cheap.

....wrong about that price....you as the published take in 80% of the price.

Oh nifty, thanks! I had looked at the cafepress ones a long time ago, but being able to buy your own isbn is pretty cool :D
