Also, I have been playing that free rice game off and on to waste time, and I wish to make a complaint! The definitions that they use are sometimes just not right, or, alternately, they are the vague definition no 3 from a list of dictionary definitions, while the commonly used definition is ignored

Now I'd use fossa either to mean the carnivore, or to refer to a feature of a bone, (a hollow or dish shaped feature I grant you, but that isn't the first meaning that would jump out at me.)

Just to confuse everybody Fossa is the genus name for the Fanaloka - another Madagascan civity thing that isn't actually a civit.

See when I first saw the worf fossa i thought ditch because it is Latin term as in Via Fossa (name of one of the roads built by the Romans). However I also know Fossa from the film Madagascar as in King Julian but assumed that was written as foosa.
