Sometimes I like to go into google, write something up about Puerto Rico and see what turns up.

And every single time I find weird and completely erroneous 'facts' about us.

I thought the tree was the Flamboyán? *shrug*

I've seen that same ethnic construction before (at the Berlitz website, I think it was) and posted it on my LJ a few months ago. It's so absurd, it's not even funny. 80% of the population is most certainly *not* white. We're so mixed, we don't even know what we are anymore. Somos satos. Jaja.

Yeah, I remember it. Maybe they got it from a goverment site. I certaintly didn't expect the CIA to get that wrong, but live and learn.

That reminds me of a bumber sticker I saw for an animal shelter. Todos somos satos. Adopta uno hoy.

Yes! They have that same sign posted on the outside of Guaynabo's animal Humane Society. My mom loves it.

No, tenemos dos area codes como han habido tantos nuevos números de telefono que se necesito repetirlas con el 939. De cualquier manera, la mayoria de esos nuevos # son de celular.

Poca gente lo tiene. Vanessa, no creo que la hayas conocido, recibe llamadas de un abogado cuyo tiene el mismo numero que ella, pero con 939.

Si la majoria se considera blanco/a pero no es verdad. Yo soy "blanca" pero mi hijo/a facilemtne sale con mas color.. blah como lo que tu dijiste.

Intente leer lo del cafe pero me aburri....

Lo del cafe es que tenemos unos de los mejores del mundo, el tercer más caro, y lo dejamos perder porque es mucho trabajo recogerlo y no hay muchos que lo quieren hacer.

No se puede usar encarcelados para recogerlo porque no estan adiestrados pa' hacerlo y tampoco tienen interes en hacerlo bien. Estan pensando si traer trabajadores immigrantes pa' recoger el cafe pero entonces hay que buscarle donde ellos se quedaran y se forma un revolú de papeleo, entre otras cosas.
