Boo-boo...could your wiring handle some electric ceramic heaters? Sams Club & Costco have some very nice ones (remote control, don't get hot to touch, tip over/turn off protection.

Order a few bowel preps...that'll cheer you up! :)

The wiring's a might touchy but not too bad. As long as we don't run the dishwasher and the microwave at the same time the lights stay on. And I'm pretty sure the living room is on a different circuit. Those heaters sound pretty good. I'm completely paranoid about space heaters because of all the horror stories I've heard about people gassing/burning/exploding themselves to death with them so I like the safety features you mentioned.

Re the bowel preps - unfortunately, the people who really deserve them are never in my clutches...
