do I really want a portable music player? I remember going "ooh" over the iPod mini when it was first released, and my brother and I were seriously thinking of buying one ( Read more... )

mmm I still use my Sony MD player :P
I don't think I'll ever get an mp3 player... I'd feel bad for my beloved MD!! >.

i use ipodula heaps more than i ever used my md... just because it's so much easier to update and keep everything organised on it. making new mds all the time took ages, even with a netmd. if you have everything organised in itunes, all you do is plug in your ipod and boom it's all synced in a minute or less. yay ^_^

hmm you edited & added stats :3

looks like the ipod wins that comp as far as i'm concerned.. you can also use it as for file storage/as an external HD.

I used Photoshop for the first time to make those pics and logos transparent =D as you can tell by the edges I was rather lazy about it hehe. rather exciting to be able to do something in PShop d=

yeah, it's iPod, no doubt about it. the Sony is more expensive with less features (?!)

but hmm.. hmm..

I'd say a lot of it depended on whether you would actually use it that often.

If you were someone who caught PT all the time, a portable music device would be a great way to pass away the time.

But if you're in a car a lot, wearing earphones might not be the best thing to do, driver-wise ^.^;;

Also, do you have enough music to fill up such large hard drives?

And what about transforming your mp3's into apple's propriety file format?

good questions. I suppose I could use iTrip or some similar device to allow me to listen to my iPod while driving, but that would mean forking out extra money.

definitely have enough music to fill up an iPod, but a fair number of it would be stuff I don't really listen to.

as for file format - I can keep the songs in MP3 form on the iPod.

hm.. probably won't end up buying it. but that doesn't mean I won't use it (= now.. if my brother bought one...
