That is such a wonderful photo.... In years bygone, I used to chase away fevers with hot kanji too :-) Could you post the recipe for the upperi (or thoran depending on where you hail from, I suppose).
"Mezhkkpuratti" in fact. Cook the green grams in water until done. Splutter mustard seeds, saute onions. Add chilli flakes. Add the grams when onions are done.
