Sarah becoming indulgent in her old age...of Gita, of the children, even of Jack. ::smile::

I LOVE the short strokes you've used to tell SO DAMNED MUCH: Jack leaving, giving Sarah Jane the keys to what he's afraid he'll break, then coming back; Sarah afraid but accepting and thus hoping Jack and TW and the work won't get everyone killed. Clyde and Rani together. Luke off doing amazing things. Sky and her (maybe?) girlfriend, off at school.

This is LOVELY, just...LOVELY.

And River...with a smile that makes Sarah think of the Doctor...but it's "feral," which makes it RIVER, and not him, but only off by that tiny bit. LOVE LOVE LOVE.

*grin* I am very glad you liked it. Like I said, I couldn't make the first story gel at all, but then I figured, River ALWAYS MAKES IT BETTER. So.

For a sequel, I will write Sarah Jane and River pretending to be married in the suburbs. You know, one of these days ...

Lord love a duck--you've made me very happy with this tiny tale!!!!! I don't know if it's death or a character I'm not familiar with...don't much care if it translates to another ride on the TARDIS...all that matters is that the Doctor remembers the ones he loves and Sarah Jane really does need to caution the Captain to behave! Cool becos it sounds just like Sarah Jane (she said one of the saddest things about the Doctor...that he replaces things (companions) frequently). I like to think that the Doctor loved Sarah as much as he could. I also (being an abysmally Happy Ending kinda gal) love that you gave her an out to be off into the wild blue instead of being dust

Thanks so much! I think the Doctor, especially right now in his mental timeline after TWoRS, is going to be thinking about his old friends, and Sarah Jane was one of the best. They need to travel together one more time at least.
