The story builds much differently than it did in draft phase. Lovely ending tying Jack's unique ability to preserve his team's legacy with that of the alien's last song.

Thanks so much for helping me figure out what was wrong with it. :) I like the pacing much better in this version.

I loved that alien message. I got all teary as I read, and I love that you showed a human side to Tosh, and that Ianto was so awed by it. They are the characters who weren't allowed to be emotional in the show (with the obvious exception of one or two moments), and it was wonderful to see them in a different light.

Aw, thanks. I just rewatched "Greeks Bearing Gifts," and when Tosh is talking to Mary, she says how much she's affected by everything, but nobody notices. All these little hints we had of her. :(

Glad you liked the story!

The ending was beautiful. I got all teary when they all witnessed the star going supernova, and the dam broke when Ianto realised that no one wanted to talk about what they'd seen. The whole thing was just lovely.

*uploads tissues for you*

Thanks. :) Ianto's like, "That was SO COOL," and everyone else is, "Yeah, whatever dude."

Oh wow, this really kind of got to me. *__* It's just such an interesting take on this period of time--something we don't get to see that often, I guess. I loved seeing more of Suzie, and that song... Really, really powerful. *__*

This period is really underexplored. beesandbrews has some stories set here, copperbadge did a "Series Zero," but yeah, otherwise it's hard to find. So happy you liked the story!

You know I HAD to read this if for no other reason than you used Paul Simon. This was a story well told. Nicely done!

The moment I saw there was a reply from you, I said to myself, "Self, he read it for the title." :) Glad you enjoyed it.
