I really liked how sad it was for Jack, but happy when he thought more about it. Also that thing about how when someone does something nice for you, it makes you warm towards them and want to make a nice gesture back.

BTW I think you are missing a word here: "For one day, you should people ought to be nice to you."

I liked the idea of switching them up. Today will have a lot of fics with Jack being sweet to Ianto, but they both need sweet, and I think you're right, they reciprocate like whoa.
