Seeing this encouraged me to reread the original story, which is still fantastic. This is a nice little coda, a hopeful look at the aftermath. Enjoyed the line about Martha being a mad Shakespeare fan. (Oh, and I was away for a few days, but will be cycling back around to the stories you posted last week. Something to look forward to...)

:D Thanks!

It's weird, but I miss the dragon universe. I really loved playing there, incineration and all.

Wow. I somehow had never seen the dragon fic, so I went to read that first. Amazing piece of work! And this is a fitting coda.

Somehow I had completely missed the dragons. I'm glad you make it a habit to share the link to the original story when you post one of these fantastic follow-up stories. I did read this first, and to be honest it helped me get through the other one; it's even nicer now the second time around.

The other one can be a LITTLE stressful if you don't know how it ends, yes. :)

Oh I'm so happy you wrote this! You know how much I adore the dragon story.

I think Mickey's eyes are getting better, I have hope for them.

I really like the idea of you writing more in this universe, it does have potential for a sequel about how they survive and rebuild.

He's not getting better, exactly. I've based his visual ability on those of a friend who's blind: a little light, sometimes colour, not much else. It's an interesting perspective on the world. (And, um, visual impairments have been in the forefront of my thoughts lately.)

I dunno about more. (I know. I always say that.) There'd have to be a good enough plot to make it worthwhile. *ponder*
