OH, a happy ending! And I'm at my desk, so I can't give in to the bit of weepiness that wants to creep in, but I can enjoy the warmth from the unforced, naturally flowing happiness there (this is NOT schmoop). So well done, balancing the sad with the forward-looking. And Jack's deal with Hart, that'll be an interesting story :)
This line came like a punch. The call back when we see her with it on her hip winking at Lois was brilliant.
"I'm doing my contact a favour in return. A doctor he knows, looking to get back into practise. Veteran from Afghanistan, he says."
Doctor Watson I presume (I hope, I hope)?
I have enjoyed this story (and the season) so much. Thank you for letting us see the best characters from CofE without the happenings. But dammit I want more Johnson...

THANK YOU. I knew where Johnson would end up, but I wanted the set-up to be right.

It could be. It could also be a STUNNING COINCIDENCE. Mycroft would make a good alien.
I am so glad you've enjoyed the story. I've had a blast working on this season. (Even when getting parts out was like pulling teeth, and when I was nearing the home stretch and then couldn't see for a month, etc etc. Overall a blast, though.) I wanted to tell another story with Johnson but it never gelled. Maybe as an extra some day.
Great story and really enjoyed reading it - I too gulped at Johnson and the gun. Love JOhnson and watched all of CoE yesterday for a continuation of one of my stories. Love a happy ending. K
I loved this series. I have only one complaint/suggestion/insight blah blah. Johnson should have gotten retcon or a bullet. She is just too evil to let go and I don't know why Jack decided to retcon Rupesh. He shot Jack in the head and had no conscience about it. Yep, I'm just that mean. Leaving those two together and outside where they can't be monitored is a problem just waiting to happen. Otherwise, I like/love all the other resolutions.
Fair enough. I have a long thing worked out why each got what they did. The short version with Johnson: they can't keep her there, but she risked her own neck to get Alice and Steven to safety, and Jack pays his debts. Torchwood will be keeping watch over both of them, but honestly, neither is going to be trouble again.
Yeah, I can see where Jack might not want to have killed the woman who saved his daughter and his grandson. I, on the other hand, have no such qualms. If ever you do decide to get rid of her, just create a character w/me in mind and I'll take care of it:) - only partly kidding on this.
Anyway, I should write my own story if I want different endings. That is why I'm so grateful for fanfiction. We do it our way over here! Thanks!
*snicker* I will keep that in mind. Alas, I adore her so it will probably have to be your fic where she dies. I am too busy using her as my self-insert. ;)
I think they should have the wedding at the unicorn farm, it will be lovely. Gwen can spin the gold rings.
Of course Ianto will live a really long time now John Hart gave him those super future antibiotics. Still I'm sure Jack will get around his deal.
I love the idea of the 456 being a timeline that Jack rewrote with John's help, and how the memories were sort of there for both Jack and Ianto, but faded into happiness and unicorns!
Cute. :D (It goes like this: Simple civil ceremony, out to a restaurant with everyone after, briefly interrupted by an alien thief who really picked the wrong heavily-armed party to crash.)
When she got to the part about the timelines, Eldar was like, "Everything you write is fix-its." And all I could say was, "Yep!" :)
Thanks for all your help on this story series. I could not have got through it without you.
Well when something is so broken, it's gotta be fixed!!
No problem re the help, I don't know that you ever need very much anyhow, I always think I come up with extraneous blathering, but I'm glad some of it was useful!
