Last night, discussing the pros and (mostly) cons of bullfighting with Frankie and JC, I recalled a book that I had as a child: The Story of Ferdinand.
I had Ferdinand and loved it! If you want to pass it on to Keira, we'll take it!
I'm not sure how many of my childhood books were ones my parents had. Pat the Bunny, maybe?
We LOVE getting some of our old favorites for Keira, though. That's why *she* has Pat the Bunny, The Monster at the End of This Book, and Fish Out of Water.
I had books that belonged to my cousin (13 years older), my mother, AND my grandmother.
My parents used to read me the "chapter books" of Little Women, Eight Cousins, and Five Little Peppers and How They Grew, which belonged to my mother and her sisters.
I have the unabridged copy of Little Women that my grandmother was given in the 1930s from her Sunday School. It's definitely a treasured posession.
Most of the picture books I had were from my cousin and/or yard sales.
