The Pre-requisite
You need to first have voted on five other applications before your own application may be voted on.
Vote 1: First
Vote 2: Second
Vote 3: Third
Vote 4: Fourth
Vote 5: And Fifth!

The Basics
Name: Mandala, Mandy for short
Age: 18
Describe the meaning or significance in your username: "Jounetsu" means "Passion" in Japanese. I'm another one of those people who like Japan, especially because of the fashion and technology (though also the language and anime/manga). I'm a very passionate person. I don't think you can live without drive.
Favorite color: Pink, black, gray, coral, peach, turquoise, yellow-green, and crimson. I can't pick just one...most of the things I own are pink, but for some reason I wouldn't say it's my favorite color.
Do you give orders or simple follow what's given to you? If I'm in a situation I feel comfortable with, I'll give the orders, but if I'm in a class where I don't do very well, I'll kind of sit back and listen, and I'll try to motivate others and split up the tasks. I seem to unconsciously act as a leader.
Is the glass half full or half empty? Um...it's a glass. XD I'm not optimistic or pessimistic. I'm kind of blank until I'm taken by some extreme emotion.
Your favourite drink is? I like fruit smoothies, but I also love tea and coffee and bubble tea/boba.
Smoking. Yes or no? Noooo. I've got asthma, so it would do double the damage (alliteration!). XD I hate when people around me smoke too, just because it gets into my clothes and hair, but I'm not going to freak about it. I'll hate it but not do anything.

Scraping the Surface
What are your interests? I love fashion. I love learning about the history of fashion, putting together new outfits, and just everything about it. I wish I could sew. I'm also interested in art (sculpting, digital art, textiles, etc.; they're all interesting to me), writing poetry and stories, reading, Greek mythology, fairy tales, traveling, music, anime, manga, psychology, medieval ages, rococo, learning new things.
What are your pet peeves? narrow-minded people, people who follow the latest trend like sheep but aren't individuals, people making me feel inferior or stupid, people who like being ignorant, people who use religion so they don't have to think on their own or they don't think of religion as spirituality...they think of it as a community. I also dislike when people have such a high opinion of themselves. Basically, I hate the negative sides of peoples' personalities.
What are your hobbies? Special talents? I'm decent with photography, I like to draw even though I'm not very good at it (I usually do digital art), I've been taking Aikido (a Japanese martial art) for about 10 years now, I'm learning how to knit, I've started making my own jewelry and keychains out of things I've sculpted, I love writing stories and poems...I once wrote an article that got published in the city newspaper...
Your strengths lie in… and why? My ability to adapt. I might complain or suffer a bit in the beginning, but soon I'll adjust to the situation and be able to perform fine. I'm also pretty understanding. I try to see the other person's point of view, and even though it's hard, I still try to see it because it'll help me understand other people better and get along with them better. And even though I don't look it, I'm a strong person. I don't break down easily. I suffer, but I still go on. I'm also very loyal. If you're mad at someone for hurting you, then I'll hate them even more than you do. XD
Your weaknesses are… and why? I'm too childish and dependent. If I go somewhere, someone has to come with me. I whine and complain a lot. I don't really think about the real world. I don't like to work. I want to just enjoy myself. I'm also prone to depression. I had major depression for 2 years, and even though I don't have it anymore, I tend to get sadder about things than other people would. Oh, and I'm not much a people-person sometimes...I can be happy and social and everything, it's just that sometimes I turn into someone who's introverted and distant and I just want to be alone and mope.

Digging a little Deeper
Who do you admire (whether it be fictitious or real life) and why? Gackt Camui, a Japanese singer. He can play over 5 different instruments, he knows a few languages pretty well, he does martial arts, and even though he's incredibly talented and famous, he still has a sense of humor and remains dedicated to his work. He doesn't mind people making fun of him, and he even makes fun of himself. (he's also reallllyyyy good looking...maybe it's shallow, but he's so beautiful.)
What do you look for in a friend and why? loyalty. I put a lot of myself into friendships, and it hurts if I don't get the same back. I also like people who have similar interests as me and are funny and quirky. I like people who care about me and look after me.
If you were in a rock band, which position would you play and why? I would love to be the vocalist, even though my singing is mediocre, because I don't have the patience to learn an instrument, and I think I could express myself more easily and freely as a singer. I also like the attention, hehe. X3
How would your ideal room/apartment look like and why? Very clean, not cluttered, with wooden floors and flowers and pretty art everywhere. There would have to be some unique, odd pieces of furniture or art around. Ooh! I really like Victorian stuff, so I would base the room on that. Really elegant and sensual and feminine. Lush fabrics.
If you were a piece of jewelry what would you be and why? I would be a charm bracelet because I'm indecisive; I like too many things and can't make up my mind as to which is most important. Also, charm bracelets are really cute and girly, and you can personalize them. They have their own individuality.

From the Manga
Who is your favorite character and why? Hachi because she is the easiest for me to identify with. Her cheerfulness and generosity inspire me to be better. Then again, I also like Nana and Yasu because Nana is so decisive. She knows exactly what she wants in life and knows how to get it, plus she has her own look and is loving despite her rough exterior. Yasu takes care of everyone, but not to the point of mothering them. He is moderate in his advice, he's sincerely kind, and yet he has a really cool lifestyle.
Who is your least favorite character and why? I want to say Takumi, but then again, I don't. I'm so torn about him. At times, he's the meanest person to Hachi, but usually he's incredibly sweet to her. I just don't know what to think about him and that throws me off.
Your favorite pairing? And why? Hachi and Nobu. I seriously hope they end up together or I will cry. I've already sobbed a whole bunch while reading NANA.
Your favorite relationship? And why? Hachi and Nana. To me, the bond that two girls share is very special and important. People always say how girls are catty, and girls themselves have said to me, "I hate girls; most of my friends are guys." I don't understand that. I have barely any guy friends, but I have loads of girl friends. I'm lucky enough to have 4 girls who are my best friends. We're like a family. We all love each other and we can entirely be ourselves when we're together. None of us would ever do anything to hurt the other person. I think that's rare, and so I cherish friendship. Hachi and Nana have a very pure, close friendship, and I love that.

Where did you hear about us from? I don't remember. ;_; Sorry. I think it might have been a NANA icons site that listed you.
Anything else you'd like to add? Nope, that's it. :D
