You're right, I spent hours looking at photo's of various colours, choosing my first one, the problem being even the same colour looks different in different photo's. I finally settled on a tan classic (I'm a boy) which I ordered yesterday from Ilovemykanken and got a dispatch email less than 20 minutes later, incredible! So hopefully my first Kanken should be here today or tomorrow. Anyway what I really wanted to ask was which colours are your Kankens in this post? Uncle Blue and Forest Green? (as these were the other 2 colours i seriously considered).
I'm a girl but I also prefer the more 'natural' colours than the very flashy ones :) The classic is graphite and the mini is mud. I liked the uncle blue as well but I think its more blu-ish than mine. Mine is a blend of grey and blue it's pretty nice I think!
Yes! thanks for the helpful post. I just ordered a graphite classic, and agree that the colours are deceptive on the internet, because on their site it looks much darker. I like the colour of yours. Either way, I'll be happy! I'm going to use mine as a nappy (diaper) bag :)

I just google for kanken classic vs mini and your review is the first one and it is very helpful. I'm deciding on getting my very first kanken and after reading your review I will get a mini for myself! thanks !
Is the backpack comfortable? since the straps have no padding? I tend to stuff a lot in my bag like bottled water, umbrella, books and such. Also, how do you clean your backpack?

I usually carry quite alot in the bag which is fine if I wear a t-shirt. When I wear a tanktop it can be a bit scratchy. But the website also sells the padding for the straps. I also have a large laptop back (17") which does have the padded straps. So for super-heavy laptop buisness I do love the padded straps. You could always buy the straps seperately :)
I clean it with some water and soap (Im outdoorsy so it gets quite dirty). This works fine for me:)

yes it easily fits an A4 binder :) On the bottom of the stack displayed with my classic Kanken is an A4 binder and a near A4-sized book. No problem :)
