Chess weekend

I probably played the best chess of my life last weekend at the Boulder Open (yes, it fell on Easter Sunday... a little weird, but then again, I'm not all that religious anyway).  I only scored 2.5/5, but breaking even is pretty good for an event with 3 experts, 3 masters, and a grandmaster. The third situation you described is very similar to a game I'm in right now. I've sacrificed a pawn to exploit an opening my opponent created in his b-file by trying to attack my bishop too soon with his pawns. As a result, I have a very strong left side and a few more developed pieces. We'll see how it turns out.

Do you record your games? It'd be interesting to see the first one you described.

This has a lot of comments in it and side-variations... If you just want to see the actual play, just remove the parentheses/brace pairs. Oh, and ignore the "$2", "$6", etc. It's PGN notation; what can I say ( ... )
