The last line in the first one kills me with Kaoru love and a nice dose of plain motive to his actions. It's succinct and cuts straight to the heart of the matter so very well. That, and I love Kaoru.
The second one - Ah yes, the sheer amount of control Kyouya exerts...it's interesting that you completely leave out the cause of this, but in a way it is completely unimportant. This is simply Kyouya and Kyouya has a strange dichotomy in his character where he both tries unconditionally to impress others but at the same time is not so happy...bitter at the very least, I suppose...about having to do so. But, by virtue of the fact that he is Kyouya, his actions are coded and embedded in the persona he creates

Honestly, I still waffle on whether the third drabble is Kaoru or Hikaru. Simply because Kaoru is the more mature one doesn't mean he isn't prone to fit of jealousies.
I should be posting a Yuzuru fic up. And yes, I am dedicating it to you.
I agree with sciathan_file, to me it's Hikaru too, for a few reasons. First, I think Hikaru has more intense feelings than Kaoru does. Second, the Halloween manga chapter gave me the impression that if Haruhi were to crush on anyone, it would be Kaoru. My third reason is a bit more superficial, simply being that Kaoru would have been the more predictable answer, and while I prefer Kaoru myself, I still think there's more depth to Hikaru than most people believe.
