this whole mess is starting to turn ugly.

the first few days seemed to lull everyone into a false sense of security & optimism towards what's going on. it's horrible what may happen, but hopefully this will snap everyone back into reality...this is going to hurt everyone.

I doubt people will realize that. When the next terrorist hits the US because of this, everyone will probably just spew the same old rhetoric: "They hate our freedom."

you know, it's strange...
Of the people I know, the vast majority feel as though things like the terrorist attacks were bound to happen sooner or later. I'd be tempted to say that my friends are in the educated minority, but I'm also including people from drastically different situations, like my grandparents, who also hold that view.

So much of the public seems so misinformed about what's going on, but why don't I seem to know any of them?

First off, did they *really* know it was bound to happen, or are they just saying that after the fact to make things simpler for themselves?

Secondly, *why* do they think it happened?

And finally, even if you don't know a lot of misinformed people, let me tell you that I definitely do. =P

I've become apathetic to the whole situation. Our childish display on international stage is so embarrasing.

I was never for this war, and I don't think anyone in this nation is truly gung ho about this war either. I feel this is only the beginning of awful future events.
