Inside Story From an Architecture Student

Jul 31, 2007 20:44

And that student would be me! Before coming to this program, I've heard countless people talk about the tedious, sleepless lifestyle of architects and architecture students. I've never really gotten an answer on just how sleepless the lifestyle is until experiencing it first-hand ( Read more... )

okay first, before i even read the rest of your post, STOP DRINKING RED BULL. it's toxic. and really bad for you. caffeine's an addictive drug, and a lot of kids have been sent to the ER for caffeine poisoning and dehydration, especially related to all-night study/cram whatever sessions. instead use some more natural method like drinking a really cold icee, exercising, fruit, or taking a cold shower.

Well, to my understanding, Red Bull contains less caffeine than a cup of coffee (go check Wikipedia), it makes use of other ingredients to keep you awake. Secondly, I don't drink more than one can of an energy drink each time I stay up late. Thirdly, I'm not prone to caffeine addiction.

Just be careful - the latest Reader's Digest has an article about how some kids almost died from a caffeine overdose or something.

all right. now that i've read the rest...

*pat pat* Architecture does sound pretty tough. But maybe it's harder for you because you're in a summer program, and everything is jammed into a short few weeks whereas normally it'd be spread out over the entire semester. If you ever need moral support there're always your fellow classmates, and us. I hope your wrist gets better =/

I totally get the bureaucracy thing. It's all over the place at my school. But you're a lot more independent now, right? Haha, I hated that for a while, because I thought my parents should take better care of me. But if there's one thing I've learned, it's seek and ye shall receive. I hope your schedule clears up for you so you have time to do things you like. Jia yo, jia yo!!!!

I'm like the opposite of u. I don't want to sit in front of a TV while drinking a 2007 Canada Dry. Too boring or maybe I exhausted out my simple pleasure of life, watching tv and playing games coz I over done them.

Sounds like u are truly dedicated to architecture! Staying up 4 the whole night is insane! If it was me, I'll just bs some stuff together and snooze my grade away. No pain, no gain!!!

I'm sure that'll be part of the program, but hey - I don't mind. Besides, I WANT to be trained so that I'm actually capable of defending myself.
