Stas and Nadya are just cute.

I keep forgetting that Stas is older than Lev. Lev just feels older.

They really are.

He kinda does, yeah, up until I catch Stas in a less laughing mood. They wear their vet status in very different ways (which is trite and a little inane, but feels like it needs stating?), which I think really affects Lev Petrovich's appearance of age.

Yeah; it's always a little bit of a jolt when the war story rears its head that little bit extra and I really notice it.

Stas and Nadya are a lot of fun to write. :)

It's a war story, which I never forget really, but sometimes it's much sharper about being a war story than others. It's always a little startling how it works out--because the people within the context of the story aren't surprised by things sucking. 's a war, bad things happen, but as the writer it sometimes startles me.

(the Wild Roses mess is much more emotionally ouchy for me, because for a long stretch it's not an open acknowledge war, so everyone's getting ripped to shit emotionally and taking me with them. But Sibir . . it's almost calm about it.)

Actually, considering some of the places Stas himself had been in, he maybe should be thinking about what sort of twist of God's fingers had kept him alive, not what'd got his cousin dead.

*wince* yeah. trufax.

i like that he went to find her without really thinking, and i especially like the warmth at the end.

Thanks; for all I joke about their Torrid Affair, they're really a good quiet solid match, which is neat to write.
